Cold you 
1. replace the closed/javax/swing/JMenuItem/6209975/bug6209975.java by the attached bug6209975.java, run it by jtreg with the verbose more and attach the results?

The updated file has debug output that can help to investigate wrere the test hangs.

2. Put the attached  bug6209975_2.java file to the open repository (it has dependencies to the open regtesthelpers library) under the test/javax/swing/JMenuItem/6209975 directory, run the test by jtreg in the verbose mode and attach the output to the issue?

This test run all UI on the EDT and also shows the debug information.

That can really help to investigate the root cause of the issue.

The test should be rewritten to run UI on the EDT.
