Description
|
Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.3.0-C
Using JRE version 1.3.0 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
Within a JTextField the character which is entered from the keyboard is not
shown within the field. This happens for a lot of the characters (see short
list below). The 1.2 plugin does not have this problem in the exact same
conditions.
It happens with the regional settings set to Dutch and the input locales to
english (US) with the second option Dutch.

Work Around
|
Surpisingly the following workaround is possible:
Change your regional settings from Dutch to English and the problem no longer
occurs.
Although changing the regional settings only influences the dates, times,
urrencies and numbers it also influences the keyboard mapping...

Evaluation

On Solaris, I know that Netscape truncates locales...
en_GB to en
This might be what is happening here, on windows. Just a thought.
