This was supposed to filed earlier after having it confirmed with Steve bohne and Bill Harnois

OS - Windows (ALL Versions )
JDK build - 83
1.Install JDK/JRE build 83 (snapshots shown are of installed JRE )
2. It will silently install Java Webstart 1.0.1_01 build 04
3. Following registry entries will be created
http://javasoft4.india/Java_Install/bugs/images/jaws_reg_after_installing.gif
4.Uninstall JRE and JaWS
5. See Registry here
HKLM->Software->Javasoft
http://javasoft4.india/Java_Install/bugs/images/jaws_reg_after_removing.gif
Java Web Start leaves an empty Key.
This key should be removed and installer should clean all the registry entries including empty values

The key is benign and there is no effect if it's not removed, except an extra key in the registry. It does not affect anything.
