Description
|
There is common functionality between Java Web Start and Java Plug-in.
Examples include auto-downloading, installation, caching, app control,
etc. For reliability, consistency as well as ease-of-use improvements it is
desirable to have Java Web Start and Java Plug-in share as much code as
possible. Additionally where appropriate they should also present
same or similar UI e.g. control panel.

Changed category to java_deployment

Much of the functionality and UI have now been unified as part of other rfe's.
The part that I think remains, is the remaining javaws dialogs that are not going thru com.sun.deploy.util, but instead are using com.sun.javaws.ui.general.GeneralUtilities. I think this class should be removed, and it functionality moved to com.sun.deploy.util.

According to Andy, this rfe is already fixed in Milestone 3.
