The Windows Look and Feel will now use the same anti-aliasing as
the current desktop settings: none, standard(gasp) or cleartype/lcd.
The settings are also dynamically tracked.
The same "follow the desktop settings" code has also been
implemented for the GTK Look and Feel.

When is gonna to be solved?

Forget it eltano343. These ClearType bugs have been
exisiting for years and Sun can't even friggin be
bothered to fix it for the huge 1.5 release means you
can kiss it goodbye. Java as usual sucks big time for
UI and they will NEVER fix it and catch up with
Microsoft. I guess the UI developers at Java were never
worth their stuff. Today in 2004 any UI library with this
is just something to be laughed at. Java developers at
Sun know things about UI? Ha ha ha ha! What a joke
as each release of Swing has proven.
Just forget Java and step into the bliss that is the .Net
framework. You'll never step back into the sucky Java
UI world. UI will always be a bastard child at Sun for
they just aren't interested in it in the name of their purity
crap. No they have to friggin develop everything
themselves instead of using the OS primitives on
Windows. And yet on Max OS X it's a different story.
What can I say?

Can someone one the Swing team comment on this and the planned dircetion? In 2004 it's embarssing to explain to my manager why a Swing GUI lacks expected features.
PLEASE NOTE: JDK6 is formerly known as Project Mustang
