A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
I have a similar issue to bug 4779077 with 1.4.2_01, although the precise -Xmx value is different:

Any other value of -Xmx causes either a NoSuchMethodError (because Frame has no main - for smaller Xmx) or a graceful error message and exit (for greater Xmx).
