Description
A DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUEST :
It would be a helpful enhancement to the Swing API to have a pull-down menu button, similar to the one commonly seen as the back buttons in Internet Explorer, Netscape, and other browsers. These controls are common in other APIs (as evidenced by the fact that you can find them in pretty much all other non-Swing applications, including Eclipse), and it so it would be a suitable addition to the baseline API. The behaviors should be pretty easy to infer from other implementations that by now are fully matured.

JUSTIFICATION :
This enhancement requires a non-trivial implementation to a achieve a very baseline functionality expected by developers. Having a standard implementation would help keep developers from reinventing the wheel.
