JavaUpdate fails while update 1.4.2_0x to 1.5.0_01 on win98 only.
Progress bar hangs during installation of 1.5.0_01.

Tested_Releases		: 1.4.2_01 - 1.4.2_07
Release_Location	: /java/re/jdk
Testted O/S           	: Windows 98 SE
Tested_Machine_Name   	: stardust, riviera, luxorlv

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install any version of 1.4.2_0x (from 1.4.2_01 to 1.4.2_07)
2. Follow the instruction to setup a client on the tested machine http://webeng/internal/internal_release/javaclient_update_setup.html
Note: The path to the hosts file is C:/WINDOWS on Win98
3. Download and Install the latest Java (1.5.0_01)
Results:
Progress bar hangs during installation of 1.5.0_01 (see the attachment).

This problem only happens on Win98 during java update mechanism (Java Plug-in Control Panel --> Update --> Update Now).
The problem is not reproducible if 1.5.0_01 is installed standalone as follow:
1. Install 1.4.2_0x release
2. Install 1.5.0_01 from /net/jre.sfbay/a/v05/jdk/1.5.0_01/fcs/bundles/windows-i586

The java_install_reg.log files are also attached:
java_install_reg_update.log for JavaUpdate 
java_install_reg_standalone.log for standalone installation

NOTE:
The problem is similar to 5050826 for same java family (1.5.0 --> 1.5.0_01)
Now the same problem is seeing across two diff trains (1.4.2_0x --> 1.5.0_01)
