The Java Kernel progress dialog suffers from some significant UI issues.  During the course of a single chain of bundle downloads, the dialog may appear and disappear a number of times.  Each download displays the current time remaining for that bundle, but gives no sense of how many other bundles need to be downloaded or how big they are.
