Work Around
|
Go to the {JAVA_HOME}\bin directory such as
C:\Program Files(x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_05\bin, and invoke javacpl.exe directly. Also, the user can create a shortcut to javacpl.exe on the Windows desktop and launch the Java Control Panel.

This problem existed since JRE 6 fcs after testing with Vista Enterprise 64-bit.

I have similar problem, but the opposite way around. I first installed the 64-bit version, then the 32-bit version (JDK 1.6.0_03). Now, only the 32-bit Java control panel item is present. No 64-bit...
PLEASE NOTE: JDK6 is formerly known as Project Mustang
