I am changing the category, subcategory and synosis of this bug. I believe this is a issue with JList. The line spacing has changed noticeably from 6u10-b11 to 6u10-b12. I tested this on Windows XP in both german and english.
Please see the images attached. JList-6u10-b11.png was generated using b11 and JList-6u10-b12.png was generated using b12. JList-diff.png shows the difference between the two.

I don't see how it might happen with JList,
but I see that all 6u10-b12 Swing related fixes are for Nimbus
and one of it might be the reason of the problem,
e.g. 6595814 changes the DefaultListCellRenderer
reassigned to the Nimbus team to have their opinion

Richard Bair did the changes to List Renderers for Nimbus so I have passed it on to him to have a look.
